I can sympathize with that, but you're basically saying that since you witnessed something fail 5 times, it won't be likely to succeed. What you have to take into account is the characteristics of the people behind a venture, and whether they're willing to stand behind their ideas regardless of how long it takes for them to become successful. The success is inevitable as long as you're providing a service that people want to use. The key is having people administering it who aren't just acting on a whim, and have the discipline and motivation to see it work, no matter how long it takes.

That's like someone writing a book and getting rejected by 5 publishers and then stopping. Just because some situations don't work doesn't mean trying again won't. It also depends on whether you reflect on what went wrong before.
