In my hometown, late '90s, there was a 35ish guy who was very "off", and the story goes:

He was in a cow pasture picking shrooms, and forgot he had a sheet of acid in his back pocket... it began to rain, and the entire sheet soaked into his skin and he fried out, and every day after, he was on a permanent acid trip.
The story goes on further that some kids went to his house one day and in his living room he had two couches overturned to form a tunnel, and at the end of the tunnel was a fish tank with no water, and magazine cutouts of fish pasted to the glass. He was allegedly also spotted at the grocery store, petting cheese.
