For all those of you who have had powerful experiences with ghosts, I've read in a few places that it's a sign of having a very active third eye, and that when you're still beginning in your 'spiritual' path you're operating at lower frequencies and so you tend to have experiences with malevolent or immature ghosts. If you grow, mature and develop in your path you'll start to tune in to more benevolent spirits who will help you on your path, or try to help others through you.
I don't think it makes a huge difference if you see such phenomena as a manifestation of mental imbalance or if you see them as a manifestation of a unique awareness that goes beyond most people's sensory perception, either way your goal is the same: stabilize the mind, be aware of the present moment, confront fears and ignorance to grow as an individual.
