Linkin Park are pretty much the Bon Jovi of nu metal seeing as how they were never really metal, but they were still associated with the nu metal genre like Bon Jovi are associated with glam metal even though they weren't really metal either. Both bands were also arguably the most popular in their respectively genre, and both drastically changed their sound when the genres that they associated with started to die out in order to maintain their popularity.
