Strictly speaking, we all continually misspell names. For instance, all those German actors and film directors who worked in Hollywood. Many times the English pronunciation has become the "international standard", instead of the original one. Billy Wilder, Marlene Dietrich (
maɐˈleːnə ˈdiːtʁɪç), etc. The same happens with Italian surnames.
Indeed, sometimes pronunciation changes everything....
