I will admit they did commercialize a considerable amount on their 3rd and especially their 4th album, but i'd say both of those are still heavy and good records. Considering what else was popular around 99, one could make the argument they were doing some things most other bands weren't.

I like Slipknot. They're like marmite, you either love them or hate them. These bands kind of evolve along their path and some people that used to like them just get left behind.
I can still listen to stuff like papa roach and limp bizkit i still like some of that stuff. I'm not a fan of the newer Korn stuff though, I only really liked parts of their debut record.
