I just ordered
"Defending Your Life" (1991), a romantic comedy/fantasy film
starring Meryl Streep and written, directed by, and co-starring comedian
Albert Brooks.
I watched the movie on YouTube, where you can watch the whole thing for free (!!), and I laughed so much that I really wanted to have the actual DVD so I could play it on the TV for my family members. The movie makes me start to laugh just thinking about it.
I give "Defending Your Life"
10/10 for quirky humor and many moments that are hilarious to me, all contained within a sweet story that manages to be light, profound, fresh, and as old as humanity, all at the same time.
Below is one of my favorite segments of the movie. Beginning at minute 2:00 will explain what is going on, and then at 3:00 is where I start chuckling uncontrollably, because I know what the characters are going to say:
Ha ha ha! "What the hell is this?" "Be there in a moment, Mumsy!" "What the hell is going on here?!?"
