Hahaha, you have to put your files on the external drive AND on your primary drive, obviously; When your external drive crashes, you immediately buy a new one and copy the files from your primary drive. When your primary drive crashes, you'll have everything on your external drive.
The stuff that really means a lot to me (pics and mails/chatlogs, mainly) I also store on DVD's. Safe
