The Magic City
1966

Tracks

1. The Magic City
2. The Shadow World
3. Abstract Eye
4. Abstract "I"

The closest in competition to best album to "The Helio Centric Worlds Vol. 1" in Sun Ra's collection. Again, Sun Ra at his best. But, unlike Heliocentric Worlds the songs feel like they were done in somewhat the same span of time, rather than being snippets of different things here, and there. It's not as varied, but takes home the advantage of having more lengthy, subtle, sections. Entirely freely improvised, apparently composed through nothing more than Sun Ra's hand signals. Albeit, it doesn't make a definitive album like Heliocentric Worlds, I personally prefer it between the two. Absolute classic, and a true gem for any Sun Ra fans.

10/10

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
Al Pacino = God
