It's being reported that officials are expected to release photos of the body and video footage of them tossing ol' Binny Laden into Davey Jones' locker in the coming days, so I'm withholding assertions until then, if it comes about.
I don't see why they wouldn't release photos. For one, they released photos of Saddam's sons when they ganked them, with no repercussions that I'm aware of. I don't see how this would be different. It seems contradictory that they'd be worried about inflaming the muslim community by releasing the photos... and, on the other hand, they certainly can't inflame Al-Qaeda any more than they probably already have.
I don't think they can jeopardize operational security by showing a body either.
So yea, I think we'll get photos.
Hopefully they'll be the kind of photos that puts any "when" questions to bed as well.
