Strangely enough, I grew up around tornados almost my whole life. Didn't phase me. There were a few around Brandon, FL(essentially, Tampa) which were a natural oddity, but it didn't really phase me thinking about them.

They're dangerous, random, and strange, but being in viewing distance of them usually just sort of desensitises you to that. I used to go to high school with kids who'd ingeniously try to chase them down in their cars, even.

Not to say it's wrong, just kind of odd to me to hear how people react when they happen in freak areas that aren't used to them.
