I remember buying my first gameboy for 119 guilders back in 1991.
It was the first thing I bought of my own saved money.
I bought Super Mario Land 1 with it. It was epic.
I remember eating at pizza hut for the first time afterwards. It was a nice pizza, but I wanted to go hooooome

My most vivid childhood memory is the day I turned 8. Somehow this was important to me. It felt like... getting older. It's the only birthday I remembered being really proud of. I was riding the BMX I just got (a real one, yeah!) with a very bright yellow shirt on. It was a nice summer's day and life was perfect that moment. I still see that shirt waving on the breeze. I even remember exactly where I was riding when I had that 'this is perfect'-feeling.
