What stat I would like to know is what is the ratio between new and old music on the radio. In general, it used to be Radio in the US is tied in with sales and the concert circuit, charts track singles and album sales, sales are supported by touring, the more money one pulls in the more exposure they get in the media etc. In a way the internet threw a monkey wrench in the Music industry. And that's why groups like Metallica went on a tie-raid and sued their fans.
