Default Musical Collaboration idea

Hi,

I am an eclectic American musician (mostly blues, jazz and folk) who is interesting in collaborating with musicians from other musical traditions. The idea would be to have one person throw out a melody or progression and have other musicians from other musical traditions layer their contributions. For instance I worked with an Indian man who sang an extrememly modal melody. As an experiment I overlayed diatonic chords over the melody.

My goal is to work to create a new sound. It would require a good bit of patience and the ability to tolerate things that that sounded initially "weird". I've listened to enough "out" jazz and polytonal music to realize that fully formed and interesting music can come out of dispearate elements.

If anyone is interested I'd like to communicate with you.

Thanks,
