If you send a text saying we will be meeting at the movies at 9pm then I think it's perfectly fine to say "k" or even "ok" to acknowledge that I understand and will follow through with the plan.

I guess i don't find a problem with it either way. I think my problem usually stems from the fact that i can have a two minute conversation and cover about fifteen texts and save myself the hassle of constantly texting back and forth. I think texting should be done by someone who doesn't want to be rude when in a group and wants to leave a brief message for another person. Some people have no texting edicate however and will text incessantly, that would be my only problem with texting in general.
