I like alot of the New Nashville stuff, but I love the old Outlaw sound too.
I saw Willie in concert a few times. His harmonica player, Mickey Raphael is one of the few serious harmonica players around today.
I also saw ThE Highwaymen at Wembley. Incredible to think only two of them are still alive!
Waylon had a wonderful voice & some kickin' tunes. "Don't You think This Outlaw Stuffs done got out of hand" & several others
Waylon didn't like the term outlaw, it was thought up by their PR person. But it helped define a sound within country music. Waylon once said "Willies idea of being an outlaw is double parking on Music Row"
