Ozzy was a much better fit w/Sabbath, but Dio was a much better singer. Just give the "Dio at Donington UK: Live 1983" disk a listen and you'll hear there's no comparing the two. I might add a completely ass-whooping live cd.
Priest's, best most consistent albums were "Sad Wings" and "Stained Class". After that, could get cheesy, ie "United". Still very powerful and multi-dimensional band which new how to change it up, as evident on "Screaming with a Vengeance" where the band went from dark speed metal to light glam metal at the flick of a switch. I don't think there was another band that could craft a heavy metal single as well as Judas Priest...well accept for maybe Ozzy.
