If it's very well known, I should know about it, really. And I've never heard of goats who feign death when depressed.

They're not fainting, their muscles stiffen when they get scared and they fall over, unable to move. I'm not entirely sure what the physiology behind it is, but it's "slipped by" Darwin because it's a mutation which has been selected for by people, like floppy ears or a twirly tail on dogs. In other words, it's not an adaptation or a trait that would survive in nature.
