They will bait people by saying things like that and if oojay was smart, he'd just let it go but he's a passionate person so he's most likely going to respond.

It's just like throwing out enough rope for people to hang themselves and specifically people that you know will have a high probability of doing so.

That does happen quite frequently. I will say that I think it has less to do with being a mod, and more to do with being an experienced poster in a forum setting. Those two just coincidentally go hand-in-hand most of the time.
