I think it turns out bad when they don't intentionally "americanize" it, but instead try to keep it too faithful to the original. The Office started out this way and was kind of ****ty as a result at first, but when they started to blaze their own trail it got better.
Anyways I guess I'm just annoyed by many people's beliefs that British humor i some untouchable, brilliant thing that only high class people can appreciate. Give me Arrested Development instead any day of the week.
