Fueled by such nonsense as bands like Greenday, those silly twerps who we the public all so adore for looking like they dont know what theyre doing and bashing out a racket; there was little room for the gods of guitar leading masters in their fields such as: Marty Friedman, Yngwie Malmsteen, Jason Becker, MICHAEL ****ING ANGELO BATIO!!! and so forth, all cast aside in what can only be justified in terms of resentment as the ***s of rock aimlessly strum and smash away writing albums in time for christmas, and the sales, whilst the godly legends who show more effort in their baby toes than such genres as punk, are left behind watching these stupid "moms basement bands" sit back take it easy and sell out.

Or on the other hand it could be argued that people ignored them because all that stuff is all technique & no feeling.I have heard most of the 'artists' you have mentioned and quite frankly I have no desire to sit through an hour long album of Yngwie Malmsteen playing a million notes on his guitar to show us how great he is when 5 or 6 will do.
