Generally I don't particularly like "found footage" genre films because their concept is usually just a thin veil to cover up a lack of talent, budget, and skill, but in the case of
TrollHunter it works pretty well. It's nice to see countries outside of the US attempting to do big budget action films with larger than life scenes because it gives non-Americans a say in the action movie genre, and sometimes it really works, like in
District 9. I have to say it was kind of funny seeing a troll hunter character who should by all rights be a well respected hero be nothing more than a low level government employee. It probably hits a lot closer to home with what a lot of my D&D characters would be like in contemporary days. If you're lucky enough to have this film playing close to you definitely check it out.
