In the grand scheme of things, perhaps they didn't break a lot of barriers. I imagine that to many people who heard The Sonics in the 60s, though, it could've been fairly revolutionary... we can look back now with the benefit of internet and comment that they weren't really pushing any boundaries, but I think to many people hearing them in the 60s, it may have been a real eye-opener.

I also prefer The Monks, to be honest. The Sonics are great fun, though.
