My favourite cd of Arabic music is by the Egyptian percussionist,
Hossam Ramzy, who has done a lot to popularize traditional Egyptian music with a string of top quality albums, mainly recorded in the `90`s, I think. Here`s a sample of what he can do with the tired old genre of Bellydance :-
