I also like Terry Gilliam's film about Baron Munchausen! It's not brilliant, but it's fun and has plenty of charm. I guess anyone who likes Time Bandits would enjoy it, so you might want to add it to your list. It's an adventure/fantasy/comedy and is, unlike the two mentioned above, a movie you might like with beer and popcorn.

i adore Baron Munchausen as well, but best to be taken with a pinch of salt
