Once you have spoken
your words are set in stone
tell the truth, and your heart will not be broken
and you will not end up alone.
The mind plays tricks when you are on high
it's not expected, when you fall from a little white lie.
Excelling in everything, people bow at your feet
nothing quite like it, life is going sweet.
But sure enough everything comes to an end
it takes someone special though to still have any friends.
Now i know what the fast lane really means
everything is a blur, not wanting to slow down
doors open at every avenue
and the women, what's a poor boy to do.

Everything i ever wanted
no please never slow down
this is what people talk about
but only a few have found.
Who's leading who astray
it's all fun night and day.
Everyone i meet wants something from me
i am willing and give it away for free
finding it hard sometimes to pull away
easier for everyone when i stay.

One foot in madness
the other not sure
one more high
to get my cure.
It got to the point
that i really lost myself
and the only way back
was living through hell.
The pace of living was to slow to cope
lie's i told myself, what a real dope
hitting no mans land, head on
what am i, a kind of moron.

Yes dream a little
but do not live the dream
it's better as a fantasy.
To much of a good thing
certainly had it's pit falls
though that time, it mean't nothing
when nature calls.
What i am saying is
if you ever lose the road
just be prepared, never lose sight of the goal.

Life is for living
if your not living then thats no life at all
you do not need money to have a great time
think big, you are no mister small.
Call it the planets they are all aline
total eclipse that's why i shine.
And if anyone tells you different
then they only have one desire
to trip you up when your going places
to extinguish your fire.
