The start of proto-punk was around the mid to late 60s... Television was formed in 1973, and their debut release (which was a single, I think) was 1975. So, they are more in between both the start or proto-punk and the start of post-punk. Hell, if you count their debut
album (which was released in 1977), then they are closer to post-punk.
