In between venting and showing how unfair the ban was, I was really trying to figure out who complained about me and for what (other than Paloma who lobbies for my ban every chance she gets). I don't know any mods as being "butt buddies" with her.
As far as the complaint that caused a mod to look into your situation, the mod obviously acted on personal judgment in infracting you. I have never seen an occasion where someone was punished based solely on the fact that they were reported.
The reports themselves are not punishable. They simply serve as a way for users to bring situations to our attention that we may not see on our own.
If you want to report posts that are offensive, go ahead. Everyone is encouraged to do so. Just know that the mods are still going to use their personal judgment in deciding whether the offense is punishable.
