Interesting you bring this up, I know next to nothing about punk I am happy to admit this but to me punk is (and I know I am wrong here) The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, and this Butthole Surfers album. I mean the high energy aggressive shouting style of music that one could argue is lacking in subtlety. It has a simple, loud and aggressive feel to it. You could imagine almost being able to do it yourself.

I like the Patti Smith album I would consider it rock though? I would hold that it is more complex music than what I generally take for punk. For some reason over time punk has become a no go zone for me, I should probably get over it!

I know the above sounds uneducated but I really know next to nothing about punk, I just felt I should explain my own weird personal feeling on it!
