Undoubtedly Steve Howe is one of the all time great guitarist and well verse in any guitar style and music genre, and his playing is a real tour de force. Needless to says Yes was/is a revolving door of members, Howe-Bruford era was my favorite. Anyway Bill Bruford gave Yes that added Progressive edge with odd timing and Jazz-like feel approach while on the other hand Alan White was more or less a Hard Rock drummer and White never came close to the edge of Prog drumming - and you know it.
