I`m getting through them slowly, rather than listening to just the albums you`ve recommended I`m listening to some of their discographies as well. I`m not only going through the list you first mentioned but also the second list (introduction list) again its surprising how many I don`t know on that list. Most metal genres I can cram listen, but with death metal if I listen to too many albums at the same time, it all merges into one, therefore I`m listening to them slowly.

From the stuff I already knew quite well and adding some of the stuff you`ve recommended, my current top 10 death metal albums looks something like this and in no special order but the 3 highlighted I still think are the best 3 so far:

Immolation- Dawn of Possession
Possessed- Seven Churches
Death- Leprosy
Death- Individual Thought Patterns
Death- Symbolic
Morbid Angel- Covenant
Obituary- Cause of Death
Obituary- The End Complete
Deicide- Legion
Atheist- Atheist

Today I`ve got the Gorguts and I see they are from Quebec which makes them sound interesting and I`m looking forward to hearing their brand of technical death metal. To be honest, I like death metal in it rawest form and in its technical form pretty much the same.
