One of the best British films I've seen in ages. I love black comedies, and this works upon a paradoxical brand of twisted innocence. It's very amusing, in a completely understated way. The setting is also great, it seems to all take place in a small village surrounded by mountainous, craggy Welsh countryside and a barren coastline. It all conveys this insular, shadowy atmosphere that, coupled with the sharp dialogue and soundtrack, gives the whole thing this darkly enchanting aesthetic. Really good coming-of-age film, and it's directed by Richard Ayoade, he of IT Crowd fame.

Looking forward to this one myself. Ayoade is ridiculously underrated full stop. How the frig he does what he does in The IT crowd without cracking up is beyond me as he is certainly not the buffoon he portrays. He is brilliant in Garth Marenghis Dark Place. Actually he is sublime.
