I just saw Tron:Legacy (a big hit with an 8-year-old, I'll tell you that), and I felt the soundtrack's energetic, somber, and aggressive songs matched the movie's digital plot well. The music has gravitas. It almost convinced me that the plot had more meaning and depth than it does!

I was impressed enough by the soundtrack to look it up online and then here. I had never heard of Daft Punk before, so I think what people said earlier in the thread about the movie is true: the soundtrack may gain some new fans of this group. (I have no idea what the "regular" music Daft Punk creates sounds like, since I haven't explored that yet.)

My two favorite songs from the movie are the following:

Tron: Legacy - 10. "Adagio for Tron"
I like this track the most because it sounds so somber, melancholy, and tender. When I first heard this music during the movie, I assumed the melody had been stolen from some famous classical music piece I should know but can't remember. The music sounds like tragedy feels. I love the strings in this piece, which reminds me of the soundtrack from Schindler's List. The song also reminds me that one of my best choices in life was to become a violin player, a decision I made when I was seven.

Tron: Legacy - 14. "Fall"
I like the intensity of "Fall" because it creates the feeling that something cataclysmic is about to happen, continuing the theme that was being fleshed out at the end of "Adagio."
