M83 - Hurry Up, We're Dreaming (2011)
I've been waiting impatiently for this follow-up to
Saturdays = Youth and I was surprised to see it leak so early (not due out until the end of October). I feel a bit underwhelmed though, the first 3 songs are excellent and gives you the impression that you are in for one epic album, but after that you start to lose interest a bit, especially on disc 2. Although there are some good moments throughout the album there seems to be a lot of filler, especially the short minute and a half instrumental tracks. The album seems to lack the memorable songwriting that was present on
Saturdays = Youth but M83 have always been a album band so maybe a few more listens of this album from start to finish will reveal more.
