Maybe it's just that I haven't found the band or album that's right for me, but none of the thrash I've heard (a fair bit of Big Four stuff and lots of songs from other bands) has impressed me or made me want to come back to it.
I realize not all metal is about heaviness and speed and riff
age (I wouldn't like Baroness very much if that's all I was expecting out of them), but I feel like (again, what I've heard) thrash metal should be a lot more engaging and gripping. Maybe I'm expecting the wrong things from it? I dunno, but whenever I hear thrash it just makes me want to listen to grindcore.
