I can't speak for America, but throughout Europe the integration of immigrants and refugees after WWII has been a gigantic failure. Until we figure out a way to sort that out, I'd prefer if our population replacement was done through births rather than immigration. If not, the future for the immigrants and refugees will continue to be characterised by poverty and segregation.
