I like most Blues players from SRV (I don't care if people like him or not) to Blind Willie McTell and Rev Gary Davis (and I don't care if people heard them or not) Why some people don't like EC is a matter of choice - I guess. EC does his own thing, (he plays what-ever in blues scale and then bends a note) that pretty much sums up his style. Jimmy Page, Reverend Willy G and other imo play actual riff and licks taken from Blues players. I think BFG is more rooted in the Blues while EC uses Blues as template. I like EC, I think he was great in his Psychedelic and Blues Rock days (and I'm sure he's a Blues enthusiast) but I don't see him as a Bluesy as other guitar players...
