You gotta admit though, the scene where Reznik and Nicholas go through that tunnel on the ride was pretty disturbing and memorable. Brad Anderson's work isn't always the most challenging, but he does kind of make you think to yourself "I really should have figured that out earlier". His 2001 movie, Session 9 kind of did the same thing, but on a much smaller scale. Definitely a movie worth checking out if you enjoyed The Machinist.

Session 9 was really good. I enjoyed the subtle techniques they used to make it scary. Lighting and obscure sounds can really lend alot to suspense films. And the deleted scene with the guy smashing the dudes head with a hammer was probably the best scene ever cut from a movie. I throughly enjoyed it more then once.
