Harvest ales are usually dry hopped, which means that the hops are harvested from the plant and thrown directly into the ale without any sort of curing or drying process. The result is an extremely hoppy, almost herbal flavor profile. Many including myself have compared the bouquet to very high quality marijuana, which is understandable considering the hop plant is a vey closely related to the cannabis plant.
