I just had a test in modeling of dynamic systems, buzz words on my exam were ones like "linearization of the state space model", "step response of a second-order system", "non-homogeneous differential equation", i.e. technical jargon that requires understanding rather than memorization to process.

I don't think I even remember how to study for "memorize a bunch of shit" tests anymore. Thank satan that period of my academic career is over.
