Yesterday a melody related to the one in this song that I like by The Rolling Stones started going through my head for no reason that I can discern:
The Rolling Stones - "Ruby Tuesday" (1990 Live Performance)
The electric guitar and additional musical details stand out more in this recording than earlier recordings, I feel, so I like it more. Ahhh...comparing the two, I hear that some of the instrumental lines used in this recording were missing from the original. For example, the electric guitar in this version is playing a very detailed, twangy harmony. *That's* the reason it stands out and caught my attention!
The overall result of all these additional musical details is that this recording sounds more "sparkly" to me than the original.
