Eric Clapton imo doesn't present a 100% of the technique of Robert Johnson or even techniques from other early pioneer of the Blues. I'm not saying he's not well versed in the Blues from him learning the guitar from listening to the Blues. To me he took what he knew and developed his own style, it just seem to me he's more inclined to do his own thing then to faithfully reproduce a riff from some old Blues recording.
