Is anyone still watching Dexter? I have been religiously since the start but Christ... I think the show may have completely jumped the shark with Debra's death. Which is odd because it was one of the most compelling endings of any season of any television show.

I'm not sure if this contains spoilers or not, but I'm going to vent here like the geek I am:

Spoiler for A ****load of bitching:
Firstly, all the new characters are boring. The new black cop guy has potential if they don't attempt to turn him into another Doakes. I liked the Flamingo bit, and think he might turn awesome but isn't cutting it. Couldn't give two ****s about Debra's Psychiatrist, Harrison's Baby Sitter, anyone involved with brother Sam, etc. The Doomsday killers themselves are insanely derivative, Masuka's interns, as well.

Secondly, Debra + Quinn = TV boredom. I've never liked Quinn, and he just gets irritating the more they move him in the spotlight. He appeared out of seemingly nowhere, for no reason, and now he's in our face 24/7.

Thirdly, Debra's emotional issues are getting on my nerves. This whole 'oh, I'm not right for this new position, it's so stressful...' nonsense would be ok if it didn't take up 20 minutes of screen time every episode. It's so dull, and obvious.

Fourthly, Masuka(seemingly the only likable character on the show apart from Dexter himself at the moment) doesn't need to have a gag every 3 minutes. Honestly, he worked so well early on BECAUSE he was a bit player. It's been getting really old for awhile.

There's so little to like about the new season. Feels like they're just phoning it in. I mean, it's been written well in terms of consistency, and story progression. It's still very well acted. Just feels for some reason they aren't taking risks with the writing at all. Which is what makes Dexter an exciting show. Last season was ok with moments(and the Frank Weller character 'Stan Liddy' was ****ing amazing), this season doesn't even have the moments. I'm guessing, is this the end for Dexter being godlike awesome?

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
Al Pacino = God
