Anyone who disagrees with that really ought to listen to "Just". The man is fantastically talented. But for me, it seemes that after "OK Computer" he decided he was to clever to play properly, and started filling up the records with wobbling white noise and weird bleeps etc. Don't get me wrong, he's one of the best ever guitarists, but either I can't properly appreciate what he does now, or he's beginning to lose the plot.....
And WTF is he doing below Kurt Cobain on Rolling Stones "Best Guitarists" list?

Does the fact that lots of people like him mean that he is boring and watered down? I like to think that there are many people in the world who are just as intelligent as me, many who are more so. I don't think that popular appeal has anything whatsoever to do with how good a guitar player you are.
