Red House Painters - Old Ramon (2001)
Their final album, originally recorded 1997-1998 but not released until 2001. This album has a nice mixture between the more upbeat electric guitar-based sound of Song For A Blue Guitar and the introspective acoustic guitar heavy sound of their earlier material. Some great songs on this album but does tend to drag a bit towards the end. Enjoyable stuff though.
Swans - Soundtracks For The Blind (1996)
Got this for only 3 euro, a bargain indeed considering it's a sprawling double album. There's a lot of variety an this album ranging from post-rock epics, harrowing acoustic numbers, experimental field recordings, live tracks, electronic tracks and their usual grinding noise-rock. It's more of a collection of old recordings but a great job was done in piecing it all together into a solid album.
