I wonder if people are really in awe from Jimi Hendrix's "emotion" only because it's him. There are other guitarists who have more emotion than him. Most people judge emotion without understanding that every artist expresses their emotion differently. Jimi Hendrix just expressed it in a more accessible way.
Yngwie Malmsteen, Buckethead, Jimmy Page, David Gilmour and a couple others show more emotion and passion than Jimi. They just show it in a manner less accessible.
