A lot of people forget that Coldplay (perhals not on purpose) started a big rush of top 40 alternative-like music in this century.
I'm not saying that's a good thing, but they definitely did something for music back then.
I reckon their first album will be considered a masterpiece in a couple of decades. We'll see .
I own Parachutes and X&Y. I rarely listen to X&Y.
I thought A rush of blood was unneccesary pompous and their latest two albums are just doing boom boom boom all the time. Don't like that.

I always thought that when they'd found a good idea, they'd milk it dry. For example, "In My Place" has pinched every aspect from "Everything's Not Lost", and "Speed of Sound" is exactly the same song as "Clocks". A bit dissapointing, really.
