Lucifer sam.....I wonder if Syd knew his etymology in 67.

Lucifer = "light bearer, light bringer"
Samuel = "The Name of God"

Or, his gematria......

Lucifer = 444
Jesus = 444

Now, with all the 'cat' symbolism written in ancient texts, listen to the song again.

"Percy the Rat Catcher"? He wrote it about his girlfriend, so it says.

Percival - 'Perceval, the Story of the Grail'.

Percy Bysshe Shelley

Just throwing it out there. The lyrics may be strange at times, but, they always lead to Spiritual themes.

Perhaps Syd did not 'see' things as good and/or evil. Maybe, he just saw things as they are, but, was disturbed because of the attachments to the 'names'. It has driven a lot of 'sane' men bat crap crazy.

Just smoke a fatty, and, sit back and listen, if you like. And, pet your cat or dog, and stab some rats. The "Great King Rat" is a 'dirty old man', and a major hallucination.

Or, maybe he was writing a song about Stevie Nicks

peace
