I Said I'd come back to you about this.
It's brilliant. It may not be more comfortable than a Beyerdynamic DT-990 with new cushions, but it's definitely the most comfortable 30 years old headphone I've ever wore.
The sound is absolutely epic. It's totally honest. Very clean and natural, but still very musical and lively. I've heard far more expensive headphones (e.g.; A nice Stax Electrostatic one) but I prefer this. The Low end is pretty much perfect, the mid is very monitorry, so when your source sucks, you will notice. The high end is never obtrusive, but very, very transparent.

I am so stunned by what these little speakers do.
They're on cheap ass stands right now, probably too low to the ground.
But they are just perfect. Obviously the bass won't go very deep, but apart from that... Man, do these little things know how to make music.
They're in between my Vifa Vivaces right now but when I close my eyes I'd swear the sound was coming out of the vifa's. And even furter to the side. The stereo imagery is absolutely brilliant. Also the low end is pretty respectable, considering the size. It's not overdone anywhere.
The bass ports are on the rear and are actually pointing towards my radiator. You'd expect them to resonate, but they don't. Pat Metheny's Guitar is going through my entire living room.
I'm sorry for my big Vifa's, but I think I'll be listening to these little ones for a while.

People all around me were talking about the Boston Audio A25. It was supposed to be brilliant for it's price (about 300 usd a pair) and size (about 25cm high). And yes, they are good. Great stereo imaging, brilliant mids and a lot of detail and transparency without being 'in your face' too much. But the low end... meh... It's respectable, but you can just tell it's a tiny speaker that's trying to present you with a lot of punch. It's annoying.
So I listened to the new Tannoy mercury's (about 100 bucks each, insane value for money) and new tiny Epos speakers. I don't like Epos. I don't think I ever will. Then I had a headache but I still wanted to hear the Boston Audio A26, which is an A25 with a bigger cabinet and woofer. They're a tad more expensive, not much though. Immediately I noticed the openness in the low-mid region and when the punchy in Calexico's "Alone again Or" bass came, it was controlled and loose, supple. I loved it... So yeah... I ordered a pair.
I just want to hear what they sond like in my living room, connected to my Rotel. They were connected to a low budget NAD stereo amplifier and an affordable NAD CD player there and I reckon they can do much, much better.
If they don't, I'll sell them for a couple of bucks less. It's worth the try if you ask me.
