Its a decent album, but I don`t think it comes anywhere near the quality of the three Ian Gillan sung classics of In Rock, Fireball and Machine Head. Admittedly though its a lot better than their previous album Who Do You Think We Are.

I certainly remember Blackmore`s solos as being very good on that album and this style he continued on the Rainbow albums. My big problem with Burn is not so much the songs, but I just don`t really like David Coverdale, never have really. Burn is certainly better than Stormbringer but not as good as Come Taste the Band which of course has Tommy Bolin instead of Ritchie Blackmore.
